We're stocking up one one of our cats favorite treats, cat grass.
Actually quick-sprouting oats, cat grass can easily be sewn in pots and are ready to serve in 3-5 days.
Although vets disagree on the benefits, if any, of giving indoor cats cat grass, I've found as long as they have their own supply, my cats leave my other inside plants alone.
(Well, with the exception of Margaret, the oldest cat, who likes to periodically sit next to a plant and repeatedly pat the leaves but that's a different story.)

You can find cat grass at most garden nurseries and order online from Ferry Morse seed co. Packets cost about $2 and will last for several servings.
We keep 3 pots going; one cats can have now, a second still growing, and the third one resprouting. Bobcat sometimes will sit next to the empty pots and stare at them, as if willing them to grow. (Luckily grass seeds aren't shy, or easily intimidated!?)
Interestingly enough, my cats seem to wait until the cat grass pots are "served" to jump in; I'll usually give them a pot to munch on after they get breakfast.
For a nice cat gift, put a packet of seeds inside a flower pot filled with new soil, with a base, and a card that says "happy munching."

I've also made pots with grass seed already sprouting so new cat grass growers can see what it looks like.
This is a charming little gift that will keep on giving long after the holidays are over!
