Simple gift idea for a grandfatherly neighbor

"HELP! Its my fault I put this off far too long but I can't come up with anything to give this wonderful neighbor for his birthday.... He's been like a grandfather to my kids, good friend to my husband..I called him first the last time I had a flat tire, I just knew he would be there for me!!! I wanted to make him a quilt but I don't sew. The only handy thing I do is cook and then not well. I know, I'm a disaster! Any ideas???"

I don't know too many "grandfathers" who wouldn't be thrilled with a stash of homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Have the kids draw the birthday card; get one of those reusable, plastic storage containers, pack cookies in freezer bags so he can store the ones he doesn't eat, and add a bow. You can also add "free cookie refills" at the bottom of the container.
