What began in 1998 as a weekend trip with my mother to help find quilts for a friend is now a custom gift business. We make custom quilts in hard-to-find patterns, exclusive patterns with the artist's permission, and unique patterns I design. We also specialize in modernizing old favorites, such as double wedding ring quilts and making quilts out of printed photos, mementos, clothing and other fabrics. Baby crib quilts have become harder to find so we offer a variety of baby quilts in those smaller sizes that can easily be personalized with a baby's name and birth date.

Handmade quilts for sale and ready-to-ship quilts are always available for you if you do not have the time for custom quilts. Please browse in our Shop.

Quilt Costs

What Do Quilts Cost?

The cost of quilts depends on a number of factors: where the quilt is made, what products are used in the quilt and how much work and expertise goes into the quilt.

Made in US quilts are more expensive than imported quilts. The better the quality of the work, including the hand-quilting, the more expensive the quilt will be.

What Are Important Cost Factors

The first important factor is the quality of fabrics. You want high-quality, long-lasting fabrics so you can easily wash and dry your quilt for a very long time.

The second factor is how the quilt is made; you should not see seams coming loose or have any part of the quilt that needs to be stitched when you get home.

The quilting, whether machine or hand-quilted, should have even stitches. Hand-quilting should be at least 6 stitches per inch; the more even stitches per inch, the more experienced the quilter.

Cost of Most Popular Queen Size Quilt

Let's assume you are making the most popular quilt size, queen 90x90.

Depending on the pattern, good quality fabrics for quilts will start around $50. Batting starts at $35. Thread $10-20. Cutting and piecing takes an average of 15-30 hours per quilt, depending on the quilter's experience and selected quilt pattern. Machine quilting and setting the quilt averages 5-10 hours. Hand quilting will take at least another three months.

Always look for quality. You will be looking, and using, a quilt on a regular basis. You want a quilt that will last!

I love your stuff, the quilts, too. I’m going to call my sister so we can shop together for my wedding shower, I have a few of your products on my wish list.
