Of all of the custom quilts we make, the ones out of wedding dresses are the most personal. For that reason, when we have asked our customers if we could use a photo of their finished quilt, its no longer a surprise when they decline.
This custom wedding dress throw was an exception. We made the throw a standard 50x60 inches out of 10-inch blocks with a border we machine quilted to add a nice dimension.
Because satin is hard to sew, we used a cotton backing to give the quilting machine something to hold on to when quilting. The bride also had us add custom embroidery with the couple's name and wedding date in a corner.
Recommend dry cleaning.
